Frequently Asked Questions

Who Organizes God on Tap?

God on Tap is hosted by members and friends of Upper Dublin Lutheran Church. Pastor Keith Anderson coordinates the God on Tap events schedule and communications.

I’m not sure about Christianity or religion in general. Will it be awkward?

Nobody is trying to convert anyone. Many of the people who come to God on Tap have healthy questions and doubts, along with insights about the role of spirituality and religion in their lives and the world. God on Tap is a safe place to share you experiences and questions.

How long have you been meeting?

God on Tap started in February of 2013. We added Coffee and Conversation and our annual Beer and Carols event soon after that. Our blog has all our discussion topics dating back to the beginning.

What should I expect when I show up?

Expect a warm welcome. As you arrive to God on Tap, you’ll find people ordering drinks and informally chatting. Our conversations usually get started about 7:50 once everyone has arrived and gotten a drink. Grab your favorite beverage and join the conversation.

What do you talk about?

We call God on Tap “conversations at the intersection of life and faith.” We take a shared life experience and ask faith questions about it. We believe in the power of conversation to help us understand ourselves, others, our world, and God better.

Cool idea. Where did it come from?

“Theology Pubs” like this have been happening for a long time around the country. Each group does it a little differently. You can get a sense for the variety of these kind of groups at the Pub Theology website.
